Pledge a Scholarship Fund for 2027
Our children earn their university places but often cannot afford to take them. Pledge a scholarship fund, in your name or in memory of someone, and send one of them to university.
Why this matters...
The Higher Education Question
Every year our children work hard for their results, but many of them find that the cost of university is out of reach. A few settle for a course they did not choose. Others do not go at all.
Until now, we have met these costs as they arose, collecting donations from board members and other donors on an ad hoc basis. It worked more often than not, and several of our children are at university today because of it. But it left every student waiting on a decision that had not yet been made, and it meant we could never tell a child in advance what help would be there for them.
We are formalising it. By collecting pledges in advance, we can build proper scholarship funds and tell our graduates what support is available before they apply, rather than after they have already made their choices.
You can start a fund in your own name, or in memory of someone you love, and pledge whatever you are able to give. It goes directly to a student who has earned their place.
-
Step 1 — Pledge
Choose your amount
Decide how much you would like to give and let us know. There is no minimum and nothing to pay yet.
-
Step 2 — Meet
Meet the graduates
In August 2027 we will send you our graduating students, the universities they have applied to, and the cost for each. You will also receive a short profile, an essay and a video message from every graduate.
-
Step 3 — Match
Find your student
In September 2027, we will arrange interviews so you can meet the graduates and ask anything you wish, then tell us who you would most like to support. We match pledges to students so that as many of our graduates as possible are funded for the course they chose, and no child is left unsupported because they were nobody's first choice.
-
Step 4 — Follow
Pay them directly
You pay your student's university and hostel fees directly, and we will introduce you so you can follow their progress yourself. Safina helps with whatever you need along the way.
-
Step 5 — Follow
Watch them succeed
Your scholar goes on to graduate and build a career. You will have been the reason they got there.
