Our Story
Safina was founded in 2005, after the Kashmir earthquake, to give orphaned and vulnerable children a safe home, an education, and the care every child deserves.
We started in a small rented house in Islamabad with borrowed mattresses and borrowed cutlery, looking after our first group of children. Twenty years on, with the support of our donors and volunteers, we have cared for hundreds of children from across Pakistan and built a purpose-designed campus they can call home.
Our Mission
Our mission is to give orphaned children a home where they are loved, an education that opens doors, and the guidance to become happy, capable adults.

Our Values
Dedication
Our board and our volunteers take no financial reward. We work for the children, not for recognition, and the decisions we make are made for the betterment of the children.
Compassion
Love and patience matter more here than anything else. We extend that to our staff as well as our children, because a team that feels cared for is the only kind that can raise a child well.
Growth
We have come a long way since 2005, and we are not finished. Every year we look for what we can do better for our children, and then we do it.
